Section Policies – DEVOTIONIS: Journal of Community Service

  1. Original Articles (Community Service Research Articles)

Description: This section features primary manuscripts that present the outcomes of community service activities based on scientific, technological, artistic, or humanistic approaches. The work must be conducted systematically and contribute to community empowerment.
Structure: Must include sections on Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
Word Count: 2,000–8,000 words.
Review Process: Double-blind peer review.
Language: Indonesian or English.
Access: Open Access.

  1. Community Service Project Reports

Description: Includes formal reports of institution-based community service programs, cross-sector collaborations, or routine service initiatives carried out by faculty members, students, or organizations.
Structure: Must include sections on Objectives, Implementation Methods, Activity Outcomes, Evaluation, and Follow-Up Plans.
Word Count: 2,000–5,000 words.
Review Process: Editorial review.
Access: Open Access.

  1. Literature Review Articles

Description: Provides analytical reviews of recent literature on concepts, approaches, and models of community service, as well as scientific contributions to community engagement practices across various sectors.
Word Count: 2,000–7,000 words.
Review Process: Double-blind peer review.
Additional Requirements: Minimum of 25 references, with at least 80% being primary sources published within the last 10 years.
Access: Open Access.

General Notes

All accepted manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism screening process and must conform to the journal’s editorial style. Citations and references must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
