Enhancing Fishery Product Processing Capacity of Poklahsar Group in Padak Guar Village

This community service activity was conducted to enhance the capacity of the Fish Processing and Marketing Group (Poklahsar) Amertha Bahari in Padak Guar Village, Sambelia District, East Lombok Regency. Coastal communities often face challenges in optimizing the economic value of fishery resources due to limited processing skills, insufficient understanding of food safety standards, and weak capacity in basic business management. These conditions result in low value-added fishery products and limited income opportunities. Therefore, this program aimed to improve participants’ knowledge and skills in fishery product processing, food safety practices, product diversification, and cost of production calculation. The activity was implemented using a participatory training approach that combined theoretical explanations and practical sessions. The program was carried out in one day and included stages of preparation, material delivery, hands-on practice, and evaluation. Training materials covered food safety standards, hygienic handling of fishery products, processing techniques for fish-based products such as fish crackers and fish balls, and calculation of cost of production (HPP) as a basis for determining appropriate selling prices. Evaluation was conducted through observation of participant engagement, assessment of skill mastery during practical sessions, and interactive discussions. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of food safety principles, processing procedures, and basic cost calculations. Participants were able to independently practice the production of fish crackers and fish balls and demonstrated readiness to diversify products into other fish-based processed foods. Overall, this activity contributed positively to strengthening community capacity, increasing the value addition of fishery products, and supporting sustainable livelihoods. Continued mentoring and institutional support are recommended to ensure the long-term sustainability of similar community service programs.

Strengthening Reading, Writing, and Numeracy Literacy through Integrated Thematic Learning for Students in the Elementary School Teacher Education

This community service program was conducted in response to the need to strengthen integrated literacy and numeracy competencies among preservice elementary school teachers. The purpose of this study was to enhance students’ reading–writing literacy and numeracy skills through the implementation of integrated thematic learning in the Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) at Universitas Satya Wiyata Mandala. The method employed was a participatory and reflective community service approach, implemented through thematic learning workshops, guided practice, mentoring, and continuous reflection activities. Participants were actively involved in critical reading, reflective writing, and contextual numeracy problem-solving embedded within thematic learning activities relevant to elementary education. Data were collected through observation, literacy and numeracy assessments, student response questionnaires, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively using qualitative and simple quantitative techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of integrated thematic learning effectively improved students’ ability to connect reading, writing, and numeracy skills in a meaningful and contextual manner. In addition, students demonstrated increased pedagogical awareness, confidence, and readiness to design thematic learning activities that integrate literacy and numeracy for elementary classrooms. Overall, the program successfully achieved its objectives and shows strong potential for sustainable implementation in preservice teacher education to support the development of competent and reflective future elementary school teachers.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration Training in The Creation of Innovative Learning Media

The digital era demands teachers to innovate in creating learning media. In response to this challenge, the community service team organized training on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creation of innovative learning media. This community service activity aims to: (1) introduce the concepts and potential of AI in education, (2) train practical skills in using AI tools to create learning media, and (3) increase teachers' motivation to innovate. The training was conducted at MIT Al Ishlah Gorontalo, involving 47 teachers as participants. The method used was participatory, through a combination of material presentations, tutorials, and self-practice facilitated by the team. Based on pre-test and post-test results, there was a 75% increase in participants' understanding. Additionally, the satisfaction questionnaire recorded that 98% of participants felt the material delivered was relevant to their needs and they successfully created AI-based learning media prototypes during the workshop session. This activity proves that teachers' capacity in educational technology can be significantly enhanced through structured and applicative training, opening opportunities for digital transformation in the MIT Al Ishlah Gorontalo environment.

Strengthening Principals’ Growth Mindset to Support Deep Learning

This community service program was conducted to strengthen school principals’ growth mindset as a foundation for instructional leadership in supporting the implementation of Deep Learning. The background of this program was the need for school leaders to develop adaptive, reflective, and growth-oriented perspectives in responding to educational change, particularly in fostering mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning environments. The program aimed to enhance principals’ understanding and readiness to apply growth mindset principles in their leadership practices. The activities involved 32 principals from elementary schools and early childhood education institutions in Jember Regency and were implemented through an andragogy-based training and mentoring approach. The methods included interactive lectures, classroom discussions, reflective worksheet activities, group presentations, and collaborative learning strategies designed to encourage reflection, dialogue, and shared learning experiences among participants. The results indicated that the program successfully facilitated conceptual understanding and initial behavioral changes among participants. Principals demonstrated increased active participation, openness to feedback, reflective thinking, and readiness to implement follow-up actions related to Deep Learning in their respective schools. In addition, the program produced reflective learning artifacts and contributed to the emergence of an initial professional learning network among principals, supporting peer collaboration and knowledge sharing. In conclusion, the community service program effectively achieved its objectives by strengthening principals’ growth mindset through participatory and reflective learning processes, suggesting that growth mindset-based leadership development constitutes a relevant and sustainable strategy for enhancing instructional leadership and supporting the implementation of Deep Learning in schools.

The Use of Video and Multimedia as Learning Evaluation Tools

The use of learning evaluation instruments is still dominated by written tests, so that students' thinking skills, creativity, and practical skills are not authentically reflected. This problem highlights the need for evaluation media that can record students' processes and performance more comprehensively. This paper aims to describe the use of video and multimedia as learning evaluation instruments. The problem in this study is how to use video and multimedia as learning evaluation instruments. The method used is a literature review, which is based on existing literature and facts in the field. The data or materials obtained are from literature (books, journals, articles, etc.). Data sources were also obtained by collecting literature to obtain theoretical information and explanations. The data analysis technique involved summarizing, presenting data, and providing conclusions. The results of the study show that video can be used to assess student performance in presentations, laboratory practices, motor skills, and collaborative projects, while multimedia provides interactive evaluation support through simulations, digital quizzes, electronic portfolios, and automatic feedback. Both instruments improve the objectivity of assessment, transparency of criteria, and documentation of learning outcomes. In conclusion, the use of video and multimedia is an alternative evaluation instrumen through simulations, digital quizzes, electronic portfolios, and automated feedback. Development of Excellence in Sugihwaras Village "Kampoeng Konveksi": Career Guidance Through Patchwork Craft Training

This community service aims to develop the advantages of the "Kampoeng Konveksi" of Sugihwaras Village, Bojonegoro Regency with a career guidance program through patchwork training. Sugihwaras Village is known as Kampoeng Convection because most of the people have sewing skills and a home convection business. In the convection business, pieces of fabric called patchwork remain. Large quantities of patchwork that have not been utilized optimally are potential that wants to be processed and developed. The method carried out in this service is ABCD (Asset Based Community Development), with several stages, namely inculturation, discovery, design, definition and reflection. The implementation of this career guidance was held together with the Sugihwaras Village government by carrying out patchwork craft training. Career guidance through this training aims to improve skills, change people's perspective on patchwork as a productive asset, and encourage the birth of creative product innovation. As a result, the activity succeeded in improving the skills of residents, motivating the entrepreneurial career spirit, and producing a new community, namely the Sugihwaras Perca Gallery which functions as a forum for the sustainability of the program. Thus, the implementation of service not only has a short-term impact, but also opens up opportunities for sustainable creative economy development.
